Kristin and Michael live in Florida so we did not have the typical design process. Instead we talked over email and I took Krystal’s colour scheme and ran with it. Since she lived far away and did not have a specific style in mind she gave me her approximate budget and I created 4 or 5 different designs for her to choose from. I was so excited when she chooses my favorite one! I had never done a large 4 by 9 invite with the smaller size portable pocket. Sometimes it is difficult for me to express my new ideas to clients as it is difficult to envision what I am talking about without actually seeing it, so since Kristin’s design process was slightly different than my average one it let me be a little more creative. At first Kristin’s colours were just the ivory and purple but then she decided to add in the apricot colour which really gave her invites a “pop”.

Kristin’s reply card was sent as a postcard. This is something unique but also helps budget wise because you do not need the reply envelope. In the US they also have a specific stamp for postcards which is less than their standard stamp, which also helps with the postage budget (there is not a specific postage for postcards in Canada though).

It was so fun to work with Kristin and it was nice to put a face to a voice when we met to give her the finished invitations. Her invites turned out beautiful and have now become a very popular style. Congratulations Kristin and Michael!
